About Melissa

Based in DFW, Texas

Hello! I’m Melissa, and I capture moments for a living. My clients come from all walks of life. No matter who you are or who you love, you deserve to have your biggest day be memorable, and I want to celebrate and document it with you!

A bit about my photography experience: I graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a BFA in photography in 2010. I learned the fundamentals of art and photography at my time there, and was captivated especially with learning about art history. After graduation, I spent some time working as a professional retoucher and officially launched my wedding photography business in 2012. I've photographed 100+ weddings since, gaining knowledge and expertise along the way.

Candid unplanned moments are my favorite. Of course, there are also the shots we create to get the perfect look and desired effect, but ultimately, I work with you to make sure I capture who you and your partner are in this moment as individuals and as a couple.

I’m a firm believer in marriage equality and have had the great pleasure in photographing couples in the LGBTQIA+ community. To me, love is universal.

More tidbits about me:

On a day off, I’m deep into reading fantasy or science fiction stories. I also enjoy hitting up art exhibits, seeing live music, and trying new restaurants. I drink black coffee, and my cocktail of choice is an old fashioned. My hair might be a different color every time you see me; I love changing up the color depending on the season or my mood. My Myers-Briggs personality type is INFJ, and my Enneagram type is 4w5.

My husband, Nick, and I are parents to three cats who are spoiled rotten: Niles the tabby, George the black cat, and Alexandria the calico. When Nick’s not spending his time as a professional pianist/musician, he's working with me as a second shooter.

Let’s meet up at my office in Coppell and chat! While most of my clients are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I love to travel, so don’t be afraid to reach out. We would love to be a part of your story.
