Meegan and Brenda’s Engagement Session

I am so happy to finally share Meegan and Brenda’s engagement photos! When I first met with Meegan and Brenda, I almost instantly felt like we were all kindred spirits. These two are so obviously smitten with each other, and truly care about the world we all live in and are both active members of Human Rights Campaign.

We opted to take their photos at Whiskey Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas, as this is where their wedding reception will be taking place.

We are very excited to work their wedding coming up very soon!

I loved that they wanted at least one photo in their HRC shirts! As a LGBTQ+ friendly photographer this made my heart and soul so happy. Any chance I can get to support my fellow activists, I take.

Mandy and Kristin’s Harmony Chapel Wedding – Dallas LGBTQ Wedding Photographer

Mandy and Kristin’s Harmony Chapel wedding took place on a perfect, 70 degree January day at Harmony Chapel in Aubrey, Texas. It was our first wedding of 2019 and was an absolutely wonderful way to start the year! Some of my favorite aspects of this wedding were: Mandy gifting Kristin a book of love letters that she’d saved during the first look; dressing up their pup, Rosie, in a dress (she did a great job!); a super stylish bridal party; and a UNITY PIZZA CEREMONY. Yes, you read that right! Unity. Pizza. Ceremony. Instead of opting for a traditional unity candle or sand ceremony, they wanted to share a slice of pizza to symbolize their union.

2019 is going to be a great year; it has to be after starting off this way! Are you planning a wedding this year? We still have some dates open. All are welcome here, and all love is celebrated.

Congratulations Mrs. and Mrs. Neff!

Ashley and Kristyn’s Venue at 400 North Ervay Wedding

Ashley and Kristyn’s wedding at the Venue at 400 North Ervay was a truly memorable wedding day. They contacted me about a month ago and were planning their wedding quickly with the goal of starting a family in sight. And who doesn’t love last minute bookings? I’ve greatly enjoyed getting to know them these past few weeks and working with both of their family and friends last night was super fun. Their ceremony took place in an old courtroom, and the weather was a breezy (but not too windy!) 75 degrees during their reception on the rooftop, which is such a delightful and unique space. I had to do several double takes while there and think, “Is this really happening?”

Yes, yes it is. Congratulations to Ashley and Kristyn!

Susan and Kathy’s Wedding

I don’t have a “favorite” type of wedding based any certain elements: size, location, expense, theme, etc. My favorite weddings are weddings that stay true to the couple. Susan and Kathy’s wedding day was truly an expression of their life, their love, and their families all coming together to celebrate their new union. It’s always a huge honor to be invited back to document another family milestone, and I would like to sincerely thank the Patterson family for having us out again.

Susan and Kathy’s wedding day was fluid, fun, and free. Their ceremony was full of personal touches and was followed by the most heartfelt, beautiful round of toasts I’ve ever witnessed. And with such a talented family, music was woven throughout the day.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Olivia and Jessie’s Engagement Session in Sundance Square – Fort Worth Wedding Photographer

Olivia and Jessie’s engagement session took place the week after history was made, and marriage equality became the law of the land! On June 26, 2015, they joined countless other couples at the courthouse and are now legally married! They are having a ceremony and reception next year, so I think this can still be classified as an “engagement” or “newlywed” session. We met up in the early morning in Fort Worth’s beautiful Sundance Square to avoid the July Texas heat and had a blast getting to know them and their similarly nerdy ways. Congratulations to the happy newlyweds – we wish them all the best in the future!
