Best Of 2017 – Thank You!!

I started my business five years ago this spring. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph many weddings of couples who are crazy about each other. During the wedding planning process, it’s not only a joy to get to know couples but their families as well! I believe that wedding days are important, yes, but it’s not “The Most Important Day Of Your Life.” I believe all of the days after your wedding day are what matters. When life gets you down, there is nothing better than having a loving and supportive partner by your side. I’ve also been lucky enough to get to photograph most weddings with my husband, Nick! We can’t wait to see what the future holds. THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to write us reviews and for trusting us to preserve your memories. Here’s to another wonderful year!

Durango, Colorado 2016

The Texas Wedding Season is about to be upon us! I’m lucky enough to be very busy coming up in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please enjoy some photographs from our recent trip to Durango, Colorado. There aren’t enough words to convey how truly majestic the landscape is or how wonderful this trip with my in-laws was, so I’ll let these photos speak for themselves.melissaclairephotography-1

Married!

We did it! On December 19, 2015, Nick and I officially tied the knot at the Old Bedford School! After helping our wonderful couples plan their weddings (and absorbing some of their knowledge and experience), our day honestly went off without any major hiccups! Besides me being incredibly sleep deprived due to a combination of nerves and being hyped up from the Star Wars premier the night before, I couldn’t have possibly wished for a more perfect day.

Instead of a traditional “bridal” session, we opted for a pre-wedding Bride and Groom session! All photos were taken by the wonderful Havi Frost. We took these portraits at the University of Texas at Arlington campus where we first met all of those years ago. And we even took a few in the Planetarium to go along with our cosmic/outer space theme!

We head out on our honeymoon Sunday, January 3rd and will be returning January 18th. I will be responding to new inquiries within 48 hours (hello engagement season!) while enjoying the beach air and ocean view ;)

Looking forward to a STELLAR 2016!

Our Trip to New York City – September 2015

Labor Day weekend was spent visiting New York City. This was my first time visiting, and I was completely awe struck the entire time. Nick’s sister, Rachel, and her boyfriend, Nate, were the best tour guides ever. I couldn’t help saying (multiple times), “This is just like the movies!” We were so lucky to experience the city through their eyes and to get taken off the beaten path (in addition to just a few tourist activities of course!). These photos are a combination from my 5D Mark III and our phones, because after running all over Manhattan, the Mark III just became too heavy to carry!

Our Trip to Durango, Colorado, July 2015

Nick and I had the amazing opportunity to spend a week in Durango, Colorado over the summer! It was the perfect retreat from the Texas heat while also being an epic adventure. After driving over 2,000 miles, it became pretty clear that we make excellent road trip partners! Our first stop was at Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas right as a rain storm was brewing.

Of course we had to stop at the state signs.
melissaclaire-dallas-photographer-6

We made it a little over halfway and stayed the night in Tucumcari, New Mexico, an old Route 66 town (AKA a photographer’s goldmine).melissaclaire-dallas-photographer-8 melissaclaire-dallas-photographer-10 melissaclaire-dallas-photographer-11 melissaclaire-dallas-photographer-12

During our second day of driving through beautiful New Mexico, we reached Colorado and mountains appeared on the horizon!melissaclaire-dallas-photographer-17 melissaclaire-dallas-photographer-19

The hike to Potato Lake (0r Spud Lake) – oh my. In the guidebooks, it was labeled as a “beginner” hike. We didn’t realize that the DRIVE would be the hard part! The road there was ridiculously rocky and definitely scary at points.

Completely worth it for the beautiful scenery, though!  melissaclaire-dallas-photographer-33
