Everything about Aaron and Jamie’s wedding day was so special: the location, the vibrant decorations, the three fantastic bands that provided entertainment during the ceremony and reception; it had all the makings of a real rock ‘n’ roll show (which in a sense it was). Aaron and Jamie manage Blackbox, a musician booking and managment company based in Fort Worth, and are now officially a husband and wife team! Their ceremony and reception took place at Club Dada in Deep Ellum, which was the perfect location for such a loving, vibrant, and rock ‘n’ roll couple.
Who doesn’t love wedding cupcakes?
The room where Jamie and her bridesmaids were getting ready was amazing. Lots of available light, combined with a few spotlights and ornate mirrors, set the scene.
Also, I need to share that when Jamie first showed me a photo of her FABULOUS RED wedding dress, I suddenly knew the day would be all the more special. The red color scheme was everywhere, which provided a pop of color that was enticing yet easy on the eyes :)
Meanwhile, Aaron, the groom, had arrived and was looking super cool in his sunglasses.
Time to put on the dress!
I should mention that Neil Ferguson was also photographing up a storm all day. He helped so much with wrangling family members and the bridal party after the ceremony!
My friends in Lindby provided the music before, during, and right after the ceremony, which fit perfectly.
I love Jamie’s expression in this one:
Even the ceremony was set up like a rock concert! John Kelly, a close friend of Aaron and Jamie, was the officiant. The ceremony was perfectly tailored to their personalities, with quotes read from Carl Sagan, Wayne Coyne, and more!
Christian, Aaron’s son, did a great job as the best man :)
Lindby performed a beautiful rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine” during the lighting of the unity candle.
Hand written vows were exchanged along with the rings:
Brody, their sweet dog, was just hanging out.
I love this! It’s the “Oh my gosh, we did it!” look.
One of my favorite ceremony photos I’ve had the opportunity to photograph right here: everyone is laughing and smiling!
As they exited down the aisle, Brody followed them!
Aaron’s daughter, Kyleigh (who did an awesome job as a flower girl!) was overcome with emotion.
It was then time for family photos! I managed to take a quick, candid snapshot of Jamie and her dad.
I love wedding photography because, at the end of the day, my job is to bear witness to families joining together in love :)
Jamie had a sweet moment with her grandparents:
During Calhoun’s set, Nick and I scarfed down delicious tacos from a taco truck. And I snapped a quick photo of us. Doesn’t he look great in that hat? We clean up nice sometimes ;) Also, check out Richard Nicholson’s album of snapshots from the day for photos of Calhoun.
It was then reception time!
Seriously, Jamie, you’re beautiful.
The Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances turned in to a family dance!
It was then time for the toasts:
It was apparent the entire day that Jamie and Aaron are surrounded by a supportive and loving community of friends and family.
And, no big deal, but Larry g(EE) provided the entertainment as the final reception band! And they killed it, as usual :)
More Larry g(ee) awesomeness!
It was time to sign the wedding license (up on the stage – so rock ‘n’ roll!).
Happiness all around!
And a romantic kiss:
Brody, and sparklers led the newlyweds to their getaway car:
Pure joy. :)
Aaron and Jamie, thank you for inviting us to be a part of your wedding day in more ways than one. It was a true honor and an absolute privilege to photograph such a vibrant, unique wedding!
