Scott and Kassie’s wedding day took place in Kassie’s hometown of Mercedes, TX, so it’s so exciting to be able to say that I’m a Rio Grande Valley Wedding Photographer! Kassie and Scott are the epitome of a fun loving couple, basically everything I hope for when I photograph weddings. I yearn for laughter and joy and couples who stay true to themselves.
Scott, Kassie, and I go way back as I met them while working for a restaurant in Flower Mound several years ago. Scott is a fine art painter and excellent craft bartender, and Kassie is a professional counselor. I remember Scott actually saying he was ready to settle down with Kassie pretty soon after meeting her!
The wedding day started at Kassie’s parents’ ranch where hair and make-up were being done. Kassie was surrounded with so much love from her girls. The groomsmen got ready with Scott and Kassie’s pups in tow. The weather was a breezy 80 degress and with a rain forecast, and we were literally outrunning a line of rain clouds when the most stunning double rainbow appeared. I immediately interrupted bridal party photos and quickly posed Kassie and Scott for some of my favorite bride and groom photos ever.
The ceremony took place at the First National Ballroom patio with hand written vows and lots of happy tears (including my own). The party got started after family photos and featured a fantastic Grammy-nominated mariachi band, and everyone danced the night away.
Don’t mind me, just helping out a sweet bride get ready for the first look! I promise I don’t always look this crazed.
Kassie and Scott, thank you a million times for being so incredible and for inviting us out to your hometown in the Rio Grande Valley. And thank you for the recommendation to eat at Laredo Taco Company! We stayed in Padre for a few days after and went there several times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. YUM! They need to open one in Dallas! I digress. Tacos can be distracting. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness to Kassie and Scott!
